Escolas do Legislativo e a educação para a democracia

Abstract

Analisa como as Escolas do Legislativo, que têm a finalidade precípua de formar, treinar e capacitar os profissionais que atuam nas Casas Legislativas, passaram a ter função difusora da educação política. Conclui-se que o fortalecimento do Poder Legislativo, a melhoria da sua imagem institucional, a manutenção da democracia e o aumento da participação popular nestes processos são consequências possíveis do funcionamento das Escolas do Legislativo.

This article analyzes how the Schools of the Legislative Power, that are primarily designed to form, train and enable professionals who work in the Legislative Houses, have gained in institutional perspective, diffusion function political education. For this, developing programs and activities that aim to increase political knowledge of citizens in order to improve the representative system. Through readings of academic papers, draw up a model of the Legislative School possible, using as reference the Training Centre, Training and Enhancement of the Chamber of Deputies (Cefor). The strength of the Legislative Power, improving its corporate image, the maintenance of democracy and increased popular participation in these processes are possible consequences.
