A participação da mulher na política brasileira : a lei de cotas

Abstract

Apresenta e discute os dados obtidos em uma pesquisa sobre a participação da mulher na política brasileira a partir da Lei de Cotas. Estuda a questão das cotas como ação afirmativa e a sua votação no legislativo brasileiro como resultado de discussões e embates nacionais e internacionais que constataram a falta ou a pouca participação da mulher na política. Aborda a conquista da cidadania feminina, a dívida da sociedade para com elas e a conquista do voto feminino no Brasil. Apresenta a trajetória do feminismo brasileiro na ditadura militar, destacando-o como um movimento de caráter mais político, que lutava contra o regime ditatorial.

The general purpose of this work is to present and discuss the obtained data of a documental research about the woman's participation in the Brazilian politics: the Quote's Law. It's important to analyze this theme that ask us to consider the conquest of the female Brazilian citizenship; the conquest of the female vote in Brazil; the struggle of the Brazilian feminism in the military dictatorship - introducing the woman's actuation in the Constitutive Assembly; Brazil's redemocratization and the woman's hard struggle to conquest the full exercise of the citizenship. Thus, it was studied the question of quotes as affirmative actions, the conquest of the Quote's Law in the world and its voting in the Brazilian Legislative. The institutionalization of the quote's policy by sex was implemented at the end of the Century XX. This affirmative action was a result of discussions and of national and international reactions that verified the lack or the little participation of the woman in politics. After approving the Quote's Law we tried to analyze this public policy that aims the increasing of the woman's participation in power's structures. This way, it was possible to note how it was difficult to insert the woman in politics and how the Quote's Law may help us in this presentation.
